A Bottle Of Sparkling Wine As An Extra For A Special Occasion
What's up Steemians!
A special happening calls for a special celebration. I fairly noticed that when there is a celebration at my sister's, a bottle of champagne is especially the center of attraction. It has been a long time since I last drank a glass or two of this drink. To be honest, I could even hardly remember when and what was the remarkable occasion.
I did remember how it tastes however, and I would love to have a drink or two of it sooner or later.
So, what's so special about champagne?
Not the champagne supernova, although I love that song by Oasis. (pun intended)
"Champagne is a type of sparkling wine and type of alcoholic drink produced from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France." -- Wiki

Moreover, according to Wikipedia, most people use the word "Champagne" as a general term for sparkling wine, but it is illegal to label any product as "Champagne" in other countries unless it comes from the Champagne region, as well as produced under the rules of "appellation".
I can't really comprehend the word "appellation", but here's a definition I found online:
An appellation is a legally defined and protected geographical indication used to identify where the grapes for a wine were grown; other types of food often have appellations as well. (source of information)
Are there health benefits we can get from it?
Yes, there are. In fact, on his article on townandcountrymag.com, Sam Dangremond enumerated the health benefits of champagne as follows:
- It's low-calorie.
- It prevents dementia and memory loss.
- It's a heart-healthy beverage. Just like the red wine, champagne is as good for your heart.
- It may actually help you drink less in the long run.
- It is good for your skin.
"Champagne detoxifies the skin with antioxidants, and its lightening tartaric acid helps even out the skin tone," says dermatologist Marina Peredo. "For those with oily skin, its antibacterial properties [help with] breakouts."
Nevertheless, whenever there is a special affair going on, it doesn't hurt to open a bottle of champagne or sparkling wine to give an extra punch to the celebration, does it? :)
