In a housing, there lived a black cat. The cat's name is Molly. She lives in the Joneses' home. Molly always hunts and eats rats who like to steal food in the Jones family's kitchen.

Molly is indeed a cute and adorable cat. His eyes were green and his long whiskers were white. He likes to snore and is very happy when his body stroked.

However, no one in the Jones family likes to caress Molly. The two children in the Jones family are less fond of animals, while Mrs. Jones often snarls at Molly if she mews when Mrs Jones is cooking fish.
Beside the Joneses' house, there lived a boy named Billy. Billy is a good boy and very fond of animals. Because of that he is also very fond of Molly. Molly jumps every day from the Jones fence to look for Billy and get stroked. "How much fun would it be if Molly was my cat," Billy told her mother. "I want to keep a cat too, Mom!" But Billy's mother did not want to keep animals at home, though she also likes Molly.
One day the Joneses went out of town. When about to leave, Jones family children say goodbye to Billy. Apparently they were going on holiday for a month.
