You can get paid a lot for this sh+t, more than in TV .. it is publicity somehow so you get paid with that level. I do normally an horizontal and a vertical version of the video to show to the client .. and more if they are big clients ;)
I have 5 years of video making experience but I never really got into making promotional videos for others. I have focused in Youtube and at least it paid off :) I am no longer allowed on the youtube platform but hey I had a good run so I don't mind.
I am in this since a bit longer ... I started editing in 35 and 16 MM with "moviolas" Steenbeck ;)

... but time changes you know and you have to with it :)
