The Steemit Effect: Say No to Corporate Slavery (My story)

Immediately after University, I was resolute not to get a white collar job. I had seen my dad's friends complain about how they didn't get salaries on time and how demanding employers can be.

I wanted to start my business but I had no funds. I was as broke as I was. :-)

I knew I had to have a solid plan in so I began training myself with Youtube videos and internet resources.

Thank God I never got a white collar job

Many friends and family encouraged me to get a job to raise funds. I tried to but only came out with good interiew results. I never got the jobs.

I almost nailed it with Accenture, Total and KPMG in 2016 but I didn't.

I managed my mum's business while she was on vacation in the U.S. in 2016.

My Steemit Effect

@woleybabz introduced me to Steemit in 2017 and I must say, it's not all about getting upvotes or raping the reward pool.

It's about connecting with the right people and reading great content that can change your life.

Involving myself in other blockchain activities like trading, ICOs, airdrops and a little bit of listening in on Beyondbitcoin community hangouts every Saturday has changed a lot about how I view things.

My Steemit effect is quite different from yours so finds yours and let it have a positive effect in your life.

I have been able to harness the ideas I picked at one point or the other.

I have learnt to create something worthwhile.

Need I mention

I have a post that has over a thousand views on Steemit but it's worth 5 cents.

Check it here

That's because the post is an helpful one. It is helpful to minnows and newbies especially and I keep getting followers.

How has Steemit changed my life?

It has helped me in the following ways:

1. To build my writing skill

Quality is everything on Steemit even though many people don't get the equivalent reward for their hardwork.

That doesn't still matter because many people look for quality way after the 7-day window period so it's important to put quality in mind.

2. Making money is the easiest thing if you've found your money mine.

From trading cryptos on bitshares and bittrex to getting tokens in the beyondbit community courtesy of @officialfuzzy to airdrops from which I have made free/extra $500 a month to ICOs which I am just getting to participate in among a couple other opportunities.

I have discovered that the mind is a money mine but we tend to enslave it. We tend to shy away from the things that will make us prosper.

I've told a couple of people about Steemit over and over again. I tried to encourage them to stay on the platform by even giving them Fiat equivalent of the Steem dollars they have made.

Yet, a couple of them think there is politics/favoritism in the platform.

Well, at least, register your name in the minds of a few people.

They have failed to do this and I wish I could help them.

Truth is; not many people see opportunities. Some see opportunity as a big problem.

3. I have also discovered that poor minds are everywhere.

I won't be elaborate on this today. However, don't be a poor mind.

4. Hardwork doesn't pay, smart work does.

No to Corporate Slavery

If it takes 8 hours a day to earn $400 in a month with a corporate firm, my advice to you is to do something tangible for yourself if you don't think you will get to the management position in that profession.

Take the big step by facing your fears. Fight the good fight.

If you think Steemit is not fair enough, I tell you, it won't be ever fair to anyone because only two out of 10 platforms in the world give the opportunity to earn.

Outro

With love, brace yourself and fight the good fight. If you think that job doesn't pay you, step out and do something great for yourself.

The best way to stay safe is to do nothing but people who made history didn't sit in their rooms lamenting about their problems. Each of them took a big bold step.

What's the best shot you have? Give it to life

Life is sweet when you are able to conquer your fears.

Be the best you can and take your bull by the horn.

Interesting post @jotmax,
I don't think I'll queue for a job anywhere after graduation,
Although steemit has really groomed me perfect to what these organisations seek, I guess I'll simply follow another path.

I pray steemit doesn't stop to exist any time soon!

It won't. Good to know you read and learned something. Thanks man
