Letting go doesn't mean losing
You can not confuse the let go with the loss, the latter usually generates a bitter feeling. Many have assumed, to let go of everything that somehow causes us harm, and yet we do not manage to shed that sense of emptiness, helplessness and abandonment.
We also feel that letting go may imply releasing the safety of the known, to throw us into an unknown void.
That feeling of insecurity does not allow us to let go and on the contrary generates an opposing force that keeps us tied to what hurts us.
Even if we are aware that we must let go of that which damages us, the feeling of loss can be so strong and the uncertainty so great, that we cling to what hurts and hurts us. Under this feeling, the decision to let go could take, between the release and clinging.
With the passing of time and living with the sense of security, we develop a deep aversion to loss. These feelings are due to many psychological mechanisms, which are nothing more than illusions that we have confused with truths.
One of the causes of our refusal to lose lies in our habits. Our habits provide us with security, because they allow us to keep things relatively under control.
Our habits give us control of what we do on a daily basis and we believe that in this way we minimize the odds of something bad or unexpected happening.
Letting go implies a readjustment in our lives and habits, generándonosing the feeling that our safe environment is staggering.
This feeling makes us afraid.
In the end we understand that this false sense of security and control is an illusion and we end up understanding that letting go can generate anxiety, but then it is liberating.
