This helps me a lot, especially when I have thoughts come up that I don't like, for example, a thought of violence.
I don't like those thoughts and for years I had lots of thoughts of violence, but when I had a thought of violence, I believed that that thought reflected on who I was, and when I see that the thoughts I have are not a reflection of who I am, then there is nothing to feel bad about. Not only that, the thoughts I have are an opportunity to help and connect with other people.
Last night, I had a thought of violence in bed and I went into that old habit of actually entertaining it and thinking about it a bit, and then I felt ashamed and that was the cycle that I used to go through.
When I was sitting in the classroom in high school that was pretty much what I did all day off and on throughout high school. I'd think some thought of violence, I'd entertain it, like, “Yeah. That's more interesting than this class,” and then I would feel bad about it like I'm some awful person.
There are a few things that are important to know about this.
First, thoughts are impersonal.
In other words, the thoughts we have are not related to who we are.
Thoughts often happen in groups or in situations.

@jerrybanfield Sir I started my steem journey after watching you on youtube, I saw you earning more than 500$ on every posts of yours before some days, but now I see the same number of upvotes but the revenue doesnot even crosses 10$ ?? I am feeling very discouraged by seeing this, Can you please explain the reason behind this sir?
He is a selfish person who only cares about himself.. he have only taken from this community and never gave back anything to anybody that's why the community is rejecting him.
the person who upvote you should have good steem power , then only will get rewards .

Earlier also @jerrybanfield used to get around the same number of upvotes but right now there is a huge difference in the payout which I can't Digest?
Jerry used to have access to the large upvote bots that you can purchase upvotes from. He used to purchase upvotes for every single post. Since he started creating videos about sucking his own penis however, he's been blacklisted from using these bots. So now he can't buy upvotes to send his posts to stupidly high values.
Jerry isn't someone you should aspire to be like, or call sir for that matter.
Ok that means every single post of his was manipulated by bots,

yes, you can see in his videos since the infamous "self-suck video".. that the guy has lost his shine, his earlier enthusiasm is totally gone... he can't even fake it well. Seems like an empty hollow vessel talking to himself in a mirror... not even realizing how he blew it.

A biblical point reflects something similar, St. Paul said: "I have discovered that the good that I want to do I do not do and what I do not want to do, that I do". If each action is the product of what we think, it could be said that we must control what we think?
