A SCHOOL DAY

The birds are singing "It's a new day"
As the sun rises, shining bright
A lazy child staggers out of bed, it's time for school
While mother struggles with breakfast
Suddenly, the sky grows dim
In sadness, the face darkens
"Oh yes" cries the voice of the lazy child
the sky begins to scream
In fury, the voice roars across the earth
Hands blowing away trees
and every other thing in its way
Eyes sparkles, as it begins to cry
Slowly it trickles down a shower
Alerting the occupants of mother earth
Gradually its heart grows heavy
As the tears pour
like a waterfall, slashing down through the clouds
and causing confusion downstairs
Mother struggles with her open windows
while the lazy child jumps around in joy
Suddenly, the sky begins to brighten
The heavy waterfall turns back to a shower
"Oh no" Screams the voice of the lazy child
The earth laughs and rejoices
For the sky has finally stopped its crying
Mother opens back her windows
and continues with her meal
and the lazy child once more
has to get ready for school
