- According to James Usher, a 17th Century Archbishop of Armagh, the earth was created on a Saturday evening on October 22nd 4004BC. He came to this conclusion by adding up the family histories mentioned in the Bible - such as Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel.

- Minutes did not exist during the Middle Ages because a combination of sun dials, water clocks and candle clocks were used to tell the time.
- While looking at a clock, and if the second hand appears to freeze for a moment, your brain is actually generating a false memory, and your perception of time stretches slightly backward. This is called chronostasis.
- The clock’s hands moving ‘clockwise’ was intended to imitate the way the shadow on a sundial in the Northern hemisphere moves during the day.
- There is no such thing as "now" as far as physics is concerned. Space and time are fluid, affected by gravity and your speed. Einstein said this: "For us physicists, the distinction between past, present and future is only an illusion, however persistent."
