The difference between old TV shows and TV shows that we watch today.
I really like old TV shows.
There are few different streaming services that have a pretty good selection of these older shows.
For example, if you get CBS All Access you can watch Perry Mason and Taxi.
At first I was thinking that CBS All Access is kind of a ripoff for $9.99 per month but then I realized how much I like those older shows once I watched a few episodes of them.

In the past watching TV was all about relaxing.
You'd come home after work........ maybe you'd cook dinner, or do whatever needed to be done with your kids, or anything you needed to do.......and you needed a little bit of time to unwind so you turned on the TV.
These characters on the TV we're having their lives and even though they were interesting they were also kind of simple.
For example, Perry Mason solves cases but there's no indication that he has any life outside of solving cases. The character is not well rounded and in fact is portrayed in the simplest way possible.
All of the characters in Taxi drive taxis for a living and then they come into a central room in the taxicab center and discuss whatever is going on in their lives.
There is never anything going on that is not easily resovable in a single episode.
I can think of about a hundred older shows that I really love.

MASH
Welcome Back Kotter
Perry Mason
Taxi
Hawaii Five-O
Different Strokes
Facts of Life
WKRP in Cincinnati
Bosom Buddies
Three's Company
I Dream of Jeannie
Magnum PI
That's off the very top of my head but truly the list goes on and on forever.
Today's shows are incredibly different than the shows that we used to watch yesterday.
We aren't looking to relax as much as we used to. When we watch shows now we're looking for something that will keep us entertained every single second.
If you're talking about an action show then that can be really cool but on the other hand it can also be kind of frustrating.
TV shows definitely used to be something that you could relax with. Now shows are really more about entertaining us......... and even though they are supposed to be entertainment I kind of like relaxing when I watch something.
I agree with you the older shows had a more feel good feel to them
I like both old shows and new shows but there's definitely a good feeling involved with the old shows.
Yes me to I don’t watch to many shows these days
But I do have it on when editing photos more as background noise lol
it's true that you say, old tv shows are much more fun than the current show
I like the old shows too. I got the Golden Girls on right now in the background. Its usually playing about bedtime for me. I think its for the same reasons. My brains sorting out a million things just before bed. If I notice the TV its just something funny briefly passing by, but its such simple story lines it doesn't require me to actually pay attention to. These new shows require too much keeping up with. Its more like work than fun. I got enough work. TV's supposta be fun.
Definitely. The new shows can be fun but the old shows are a lot easier to get along with.
Gunsmoke. Actually , one of the most forward thinking shows of all time was StarTrek.
Todays shows are too predictable. Plastic drama or special effects.
Much better drama in older movies or T.V. shows.
One newer movie I would highly recommend is "The Drop" James Gandolfini, Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace.
I liked Gunsmoke. I also really like The Rifleman even though it was probably the most simple concept I've ever seen.
I'm a huge Science Fiction guy and I read and write science fiction all the time. I have probably watched almost every science fiction show that was ever created.
Star Trek was definitely forward thinking and each iteration of Star Trek has its own interesting movements.
