Movie review: They Live.
I like to review a horror movie every night.
I haven't been able to do my standard horror review for the past few nights....... but I am back tonight with another review of a great horror classic.

I love classic horror movies.
They don't often get the respect they deserve from today's generation.
However, these kids are really missing out by neglecting some of the best horror movies around.
Let's get started with our in depth review of They Live.
You've seen them on the street. You watch them on TV.
You might even vote for one this fall.
You think they're people just like you.
You're wrong. Dead wrong.
Now THAT is a hefty tagline if I've ever seen one.
Any great classic horror movie can basically be summed up in one word.
Awesome.
They Live definitely holds up to that standard.

They Live stars Roddy Piper and Keith David.
Roddy Piper has been in quite a long string of movies...... however he is best known as the Canadian professional wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper.
Keith David has been a number of small films as well in addition to being a rather popular voice actor.
These two gentlemen play a couple of down on their luck construction workers who are having a hard time getting by. Times are tough. So tough, in fact, that they end up living in a small run down Community which is similar to being homeless.
The whole world seems like it has completely fallen to crap.
One day Piper's character notices something unusual going on in the nearby Church.
It turns out the people there trying to expose something very sinister. Nothing less than an alien threat.

These aliens look exactly like humans and can only be seen as they are with the help of special glasses.
Our main characters join a resistance group that is attempting to take Earth back. Unfortunately most people have no idea that these aliens exist.
It's a really interesting premise and definitely something that I would like see being done today.
This movie also spawned a rather popular catchphrase.
I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum and I'm all out of bubblegum.
If you're looking for a great movie to watch, and you're wanting something that is a fantastic horror classic, then I definitely think you should give They Live a try.

Great article. I love the movie. The guy puts on the glasses and he can see the truth, including who is a member of the Illuminati. The most truthful part was the billboards saying, "Obey", "Consume", etc.
I know exactly what you mean. The signs saying obey, consume, and everything like that are so incredibly relevant to today's world that it's sort of mind blowing.

How can I ever forget this movie. One of the best horror movies at that time. When John Carpenter directs a Horror movie like "They Live", it can never go wrong.
When I saw this movie, I thought it was quite cheesy. Little did I know it would come true......:)

In today's world it definitely seems like one. I grew up reading dystopian fiction and it seems like everyday our world more closely mirrors those books.
