Chowing Photography #6: Giant Sequoia
Following up on my photo a day challenge. So, I was trying to take a picture with this plant I bought for my mother this previous Mother's Day. I wanted to shoot it from below the plant so it will be viewed as a huge tree. However, theories don't always go as planned. It did look bigger, but nowhere near what I had imagined. It just looks like a huge lettuce patch with little cauliflower on top. That is where I experiment different ways to photograph this plant like shooting it at a horizontal level or behind a basin of boiling water. Both were cool and all but didn't have the wow factor I wanted. Therefore, I went around my house theory-crafting on how to best shoot this little piece of earth. Then I came upon this map in my hallway wall which was there for about two decades and thought, "wait, we have the biggest trees in the world". Lo and behold I taped the damn plant onto where the sequoia trees were located on the map and here we have the picture I can be proud enough to have a couple of chuckles. I wanted to post a lightroom edited version of the last image, but somehow I cannot upload it to steemit. No matter, it was still a decent photo in my book.
Till next time aka tomorrow Steemers/Steemians!
