Teen Domestic Violence Month Awareness at the Shaw House!

My job at the Shaw House, besides working to maintain the building, is working with homeless teens. We have awareness months for teens and February is one of them!

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month! Teen DV Month (sometimes called TDVAM) is a national effort to raise awareness about abuse in teen and 20-something relationships and promote programs that prevent it. Shaw House will be providing programs to help youth identify the warning signs all month long as well as sharing information on how anyone can help. #loveisrespect #TeenDVMonth

Living in Maine where it is cold is a challenge all one its own. The homeless here have a rough go at it. We try to encourage and assist in life skills and awareness to help teen be productive and sustain a life after they leave here.

Help others and look for the signs, always be aware!
