Chopsticks and all kinds of other crazy notions that could change the world :)

Hello Dear Steemers.  I hope all is well and you are enjoying this day and this moment for whatever it brings you.  

I was inspired to write today, about working with what we've got.    I believe that this is a lifelong lesson for most, and for some, well some people just don't ever get it unfortunately.  Although I speak of those people, I fully admit and I was one of "those" people.  You know, those people who always want more, who never have enough.  

That was obviously in my past life..I hope.. I am trying :)  

The desire for things, for the latest and greatest shiny gadget, a bigger house, a gourmet kitchen, a fancy car, for new clothes and fashions to drape ourselves in, FOR THAT ONE THING that will get us there.  To that place.  That place of contentment.   Now, I might be getting slightly off topic here, but bear with me because it all ties in together.

Imagine this world in 10-50-100 years from now, if all we did was produce more, buy more.  New today is tomorrow's junk.  It is true... if we don't look at things differently. 

I attended an event last night with an entrepreneurial friend of mine.  She is embarking on a very cool endeavor, where she is meeting with some of this city's (Vancouver, BC) most talented artists and inventors.  Let alone all the fantastic, genuine and interesting people we met, the event really struck a cord with me.  This gentleman, Felix is his name (a young man really) is doing something quite incredible.  Did you that there are about 1700 Sushi restaurants in the lower mainland?  You know those bamboo sticks you use to enjoy that yummy goodness?  He has contracts with  65, (still a small portion of the 1700, but he is working on it) to collect these chopsticks.  It's a win win for these restaurants, they save money on garbage/recycling and they get a tax break.  And honestly, he just launched this idea in July of last year, so he's just getting started.  I bet you had no idea the kind of beautiful, useful things that could be made with these sticks!

This is the kind of thinking that is really turning our world on it's side.  It's time we started looking at things a little sideways, to really come up with new ways of doing things!  The only thing stopping us is our limited idea of reality.

Society is a reflection of our individual consciousness.  Humanity.  We the people.  We decide how the future will be shaped.  We have all the power in the universe in every little distracted decision we make.  Is the wave not the ocean?  Is the sun's rays not gracing us with its very own power?  It's time for an awakening and luckily many of us ARE OPENING OUR EYES.  We cannot continue with the same mentality that has brought us to this point. There is a time and a place for everything...

but now is not the time for new, shiny, fancy STUFF.  It is the time to reinvent the old mainstream way of thinking, and doing.

As many of you do, I feel a great change happening in our very own realities.  Our existence is evolving and our world is too, as a result.  Once you realize that what you have is enough, that you can do SO MUCH with the little seed of a thought, a few raw materials, and our own hands, LIFE OPENS UP ITS LOVING ARMS AND EMBRACES OUR WILLINGNESS TO CHANGE!  TO LIVE PEACEFULLY.

It flows.  Our fears of not having enough, not being good enough evaporate.  You see and FEEL BEAUTY where before, what you saw was only that which you DON'T have.  Limitations.  THIS IS WHAT KEEPS US STUCK! 

Please understand,  I am not preaching here.  This is an evolution taking place inside of me and I want to share it with you, because I Love you, and to share with you causes this seed to flower inside of me, and we are in this together.   

People have only travelled to the moon because of someone's dream.  Someone thought it must be possible, and so it was made possible.  The only reason charitable initiatives, like feeding the hungry take flight is because someone had a dream that they could help.  Now, we can't all build a rocket out of chopsticks to take us to the moon, but that is not to say that it couldn't be done if we put our heads together (and had a little help from our wood engineer, Felix of course:) 

We are not just one, we are many.  We are in this together and we make a difference together.  We have seen this many times throughout history.  

So WHY ?  In this 21st century are we still striving to BE ON TOP.  To acquire that shiny new thing that will make us the best, that will supposedly bring us happiness.  It won't, it never will, and once we have that, there will be something else.  It is a sickness in our brains that we must overcome.
