Crazy anti - insomnia theory (ORIGINAL CONTENT)
Hello steemers, This is freshly baked theory that could be or not an accurate one, but it helped me few times and I just now realized the mechanics of it if I can call it like that.
So basically when we're falling asleep we knowingly make ourselves groggy, it is lack of blood in our minds, just pump out blood to the body so the brain can rest. I had and have severe insomnia problems, although I never looked at it like that, they were not problems, I treated it like an inability to stop working. My mind refused to go down that dark hole, to that groggy state and to let my body and mind rest. I sometimes don't sleep through the whole night, even though my eyes close involuntarily and yawn all the time, I just don't want to throw the towel in. Maybe it's some fear, maybe it is some kind of anxiety but I stopped concerning myself with the "why's" and started looking at the "how's".
CRAZY THEORY TIME
So basically, anyone who ever meditated knows that we can create physical experiences with our mind, for example if we focus on our left leg and we imagine water running through it, we might get that same experience that isn't real but we feel it. I explained myself this like focusing blood flows, it is possible to focus your blood flow into certain part of your body, although we do in involuntarily. What if we focus the blood flow out of our head into our body, so we knowingly make ourselves more groggy and thus sleepy which can result in falling asleep.
MEDITATION TEHNIQUE
This is something I've used and it help greatly so feel free to help yourselves to it :D
Lay down in a comfortable position in which you can imagine yourself falling asleep. Imagine something fluid like a energy of sorts inside of you that starts in your head and in your toes, slowly starting to flow to your stomach as if it wants to merge to bond to connect. Of course you won't be able to keep focus for long, but slowly in time you will get back to "sensing" that energy and letting it flow from your head and from your toes, into your stomach.
