In The Life Of A Homeless Man That Went From Rags To Riches. (Part 4 - Look At The Kid Go!)
As a driver for this Aerospace company, and as hungry as I was, I began looking into every single other Aerospace company to find a way to jump into making the parts I was delivering, until one day, my luck changed. I found myself at a company called Beranek that gave me my first lucky break to jump into machining parts that SpaceX, NASA and Boeing used. See, it all started with me walking in and boldly making a statement to a man that signed for my parts. I stated that "You know what?! One day I want to work here and build these parts! Like, im sorry, I just find this incredible! I mean, to ACTUALLY be the change you wish to see and be a part of much larger missions like putting human beings into space! That's just, WOW! To think that we humans have the intellectual capacity to understand gravity and the laws of physics, and bend them to our will in order to possibly become a multi-planet species, is just so damn pronominal!" It didn't occur to me that this very rant I just spewed out, was shared with the very owner of Beranek "George Beranek". He seemed intrigued with my bluntly stated enthusiasm for not just his company, but my ambitious nature. He gave me his card and told him to schedule an interview. After about a few weeks of being a pest and calling almost bi-daily, I got a call, met with george and got the job to be taught everything there is to know about CNC machining.

Calibrating, to so much more!
I had done it! I started making $15 an hour to learn more in a field I quickly began getting sucked into more and more, getting books about astronomy, space, engineering, etc. I started feeling like I belonged and life started picking up! With the extra cash, I decided that even going to hang out with new friends was a good idea. I remember hearing about a sand sculpture festival, and decided to go check it out. I bought a few beers and before you knew it, I was making new friends and I actually felt happy. I even found a potential roommate.
I felt more apart of the world than I had in a long time. I joined society for a night, and actually enjoyed it. Things were looking up, for once. But what happens next, will blow your minds...
