RE: Shark Fin Soup Consumption In China Has Fallen By 70%-90% In The Last Few Years, Here Is My Opinion On Why

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Apparently sharks aren't a sustainable resource. You said it yourself:

around 70 million sharks a year are killed for their fins

I don't like fish farms, but it is apparent they needed a shark fish farm to grow and cultivate what they were using. But then it would be frankensharks that no one would want either. :)

The shaming was accurate. What we need is for someone to make eating dandelions the next 600 year tradition. We have no shortage of them every year. :)

Sort:

And they are good for you, I started eating Dandelions in salads and making tea this year. I think the fact that there are so many is no coincidence, they could probably cure many diseases.

Nah, the shaming is not accurate. Those who have vested interest or keen preference will just take offence if you try to SHAME them.

Only way is to offer a better alternative. You can preach until your face turn blue about how good vegetarianism is and a meat-eater will ALWAYS find excuses. Give them some quality meat substitute and you won't even have to talk.
