RE: 24 Years of Life With Hearing Aids: My Story

in #life6 years ago

That's an interesting one.
As someone who is basically blind without glasses, I kind of get it.
Although sound is such a wonderful experience.
If I had to choose between sight or sound, the choice would be simple.
I just couldn't go without it.
I'm glad you still get to experience it thanks to your hearing aid, just as I get to discern (/read) things that are far away with my glasses.

I have always thought though that sometimes it would be nice to just switch off the sound... Do you ever get that feeling like ' I'm just gonna switch off my hearing aid right now because this is way too loud and in my face '

Closing eyes usually does the trick for me, but I can't "close my ears" lol!

Thanks for a nice post and opening up about it like this! Very lovely photo you shared with us too :)

Thank you, @imp.unity. I am not sure what I would choose, if I had to make a choice between sight and sound. I love being able to see animals, nature, artwork, the vibrancy of colour and light ... that is a tough one.
Oh my goodness – I turned off my hearing aids so many times when I was bored in school and didn't want to listen to the teacher! 😂 I used to get into so much trouble for that.
