6 PRINCIPAL VIRTUES THAT MAKE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP.

Let me start by hitting the nail on the head, most of the inhabitants of this planet tend to push every blame on one thing or the other for their misfortunes, nobody ever blame themselves when things go wrong, but in the actual and sincere sense,

most of the wrong turns in our lives are caused by us

One factor that most people attach so much importance to in our world today is religion. Religion has changed the whole peace of the world and it's turning our world into pieces gradually. If only we can just focus on the right things, employ good practices and believe in something good, our world would be a better place to live in.

Don't get it twisted, I'm not here to do any religious criticism but to talk about some few things we need to start doing right as people, in order to live better lives that will instill a high level of inner peace into our lives.

As portrayed by scientists, we are higher animals, so there should be a kind of ethics or way of life we should follow in order to be at peace with each other.

WE MUST RELATE

Relationship is the oldest and most ancient entity the world has ever known. The entire universe has been designed for relationships to exist continually between different products of nature, people, plants, animals, planets, the environment, the galaxy and our entire existence as a whole. We can exist and co-exist as a result of the relationships between us.

Relationships are of different kinds, person-person relationship, plant-plant relationship, plant-animal relationship, plant-animal-environment relationship and so on.

But in this write-up, I want to emphasize on person-person relationship. It can be of different kinds also, boss-apprentice relationship, employer-employee relationship, man-woman relationship, husband-wife relationship and so on.

However, in my own world, the commonest kind of relationship I see around is the man-woman relationship. I want to emphasize on it because I discover that there is barely good and perfect understanding between these two set of people. Most men understand only themselves and not the women, most women on the other hand too, understand only themselves and not the men. But little do we know that to actually deal with ourselves well in any form of relationship we find ourselves, we have to understand the other party involved.

Understanding the other party does not mean we need to turn them into courses and start studying them. I will say all we need to study other people is by employing some real life virtues. Making these virtues our way of life is all that matters if we want to maintain good relationships with the other gender.

Like I said earlier, I want to emphasize on man-woman relationship in any dimension including casual friendship, dating, marriage and any other way men involve with women and vice versa.

I will talk about 6 (six) different life virtues we need if we will maintain good relationships with the opposite gender on all grounds irrespective of the nature of relationships. Stay with me on every word, sentence and paragraph so as to create ur own argument on this one.

• Honesty: This is simply the act of being true to people we have relationships with, irrespective of the condition or situation we find ourselves. Most people are only true to their relationship partners when they are present, most times, out of sight is always out of mind. Nothing drives honesty than inner determination. Lies and greed kills it.

Honesty does not work out anymore.

• Patience: This is the ability to be calm on all grounds even when everything inside us wants to express it's rage. Sometimes, people don't want to hurt us but the situations or conditions they find themselves make them do. If we are patient enough to understand this fact, we'll provide help instead of anger and rage. Wisdom drives patience.

• Respect: In everything we do, it's very important we accord some respect to both the people we deal with and ourselves. Respect involves according good manners to ourselves and people around us, people we have relationships with. Bad communication kills it. That's why a saying goes thus

Respect is Reciprocal.

• Resilience: This is the virtue hidden in us that keeps propelling us forward when life shows us it's negative side. It is very important we exercise resilient virtues when dealing with people. Some people just need us to believe in their abilities, decisions or judgements even when things go wrong. Lack of resilience kills the spirit and soul. They always say nothing good comes easy, it is valid only when resilience has been in play.

• Maturity: This is one of the most important virtues required to keep good relationship with the opposite gender. Maturity is when everything in us wants to be angry but we keep calm and still do the right thing. Maturity is making wise and right decisions in the face of rage and lack of concentration.

• Attitude: In my own dictionary, this is the father and mother of all virtues. In everything we do in life, our attitude towards things goes a long way to determine how successful we will be. We will always have good and awesome relationships with people generally if we point the right attitude towards them. It's the only complete virtue. Positive attitude means success and the negative part of it brings failure.

I believe with the good practice of the few virtues I highlighted above coupled with the other ones you can add to them, we can build good relationships with our immediate environment, either plants, animals or people around us.
