Sportbike Ride Uphill Helmet View

in #life6 years ago

This video shows a ride that is mostly uphill and even through trees and a forested area. I like this video because my son is wearing his oem branded Kawasaki green and white leather jacket instead of his leather suit. I really like that jacket. About a third of the way in, the leader drops back and lets number 2 lead. The leader did a hand signal pointing down at an angle to tell number 2 to pass and lead. Being leader requires much focus and concentration cause you are setting the pace for the entire group. It is also very tiring so the leader changes very frequently. It is much more relaxing to have a rider in front of you to follow. Enjoy the following video done with a helmet mounted camera.

The bikes don't even notice that the route is uphill because they are so over powered that your speed isn't reduced at all. They can still do 175mph or more uphill. This was a bright clear sunny day so I was glad my helmet has a dark plastic visor I can flip down with a lever. It is like sunglasses built into your helmet. I hope you liked this video and enjoy your ride!

Almost hit 100 on that one...
Nice scenery...

Thanks danmcc. You should start riding again. I am guessing you would 'ride it like you stole it', lol. 😃

Are you running on racing tires? just curious how often you go through a set.

No not racing tires. Rear tires go 2 to 1 front and sometimes 3 to 1. It depends on the miles you run but we usually get 2 or 3 months out of a rear tire. The normal soft sportbike rear tire is good for 5 to 6,000 miles. During the hot summer months, tires go really fast as the rubber is much softer. You can use up a rear tire in one day at the track in the desert. They cost $200 to $250 each but some are more. We had a stack of 10 rear tires in my garage but used them up, lol. 😃 The 10 to 20K is sport touring tires.

Years ago I ran Formula Ford and the compound on the tires were really soft. They only lasted about three weekends on the road course. Same track also hosted motorcycle racing. I never had the guts to do what they did. Always amazed me when someone came off and slid in the grass 500 feet or so but they just get up and walk away, Of course tracks are pretty safe place to put it on the edge.

Sliding on the grass is certainly easier than asphalt. The leather suits protect you a lot especially with ce armor shields in place to cover the slid spots. Rolling helps so you don't friction abraid the same spot. We have thin under armor tops and bottoms that can be worn under levis and jackets too.

Crazy how these bikes don't even notice it's uphill.

The engines have buttloads of power and is what makes them so fun to ride. 😃
