INTRODUCTION
During our lunch break at the floor outside the college's classrooms, I and my friends recalled about the shows we watched when we were still kids. To my surprise, we had a lot in common given that we were so far away from each other - like, hundreds to a thousand kilometer/s away. The genre of the shows we watched widely varies and includes cartoon, stop motion, anime, and live action.
In the previous parts, we took and concluded the other genres aside from anime. With that, we're down to this series' second to the last episode and its very last genre - Anime. Without further ado, here's the first set:
Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball is firstly a story about a monkey-tailed boy named Goku and his quest in finding the widely-dispersed Dragon Balls that his grandfather left for him. Along this journey, he gets trained by a dessert bandit named Yamcha, and made a relationship with the people who he gets to encounter with (e.g. Bulma, Chi Chi, Kuririn etc.). The Dragon Balls, which Goku is quested to find and guard, grants a wish to anyone who successfully finds all 8 of which. This, in effect, gives Goku a huge responsibility and dangers oftentimes leading to a loss of the people he loves. Revenge in this series is then flowing across opposing sides (Goku's and the people who seek for the wish for selfish reasons).
Hunter X Hunter
Hunter X Hunter depicts stories about a group of 4 random people which assembles during a Hunter Exam. This group comprises of Gon, Kilua, Kurapika, and Leorio. They each have their own reasons for joining the Tournament. Gon - an ordinary young boy - takes the test to become like his long-lost father who is a hunter. Kilua joined because it's the standard of his family of notorious assassins. Leorio - an aspiring doctor - took the test to pay for his educational expenses. Kurapika - the last member of a wiped out clan - seeks for vengeance. Although they have differing reasons, they are set to have a wonderful relationship together and get into great challenges - including deadly ones.
Flame of Recca
Flame of Recca revolves around a teenage boy named Recca who has the ability to manipulate flames as inheritance from his long-lost father - leader (Hokage) of a wiped-out ninja clan. The everyday life of Recca involves him getting into fights for he has promised to serve as a ninja for whoever defeats him. He normally serves a girl with an innate ability to heal named Yanagi, but only due to her kindness and compassion. The story escalates when someone with the desire for immortality kidnaps Yanagi. The story further intensifies as the history about Recca's ninja clan as wielders of mystical objects gets known.
Yu yu Hakusho (Ghost Fighter)
Yu yu Hakusho or more commonly known as "Ghost Fighter" is an action anime that centers around Yusuke - a boy who was given the chance for an afterlife after altruistically sacrificing himself to save a child from a road accident. Being assigned as an underworld detective, Yusuke gets into fight with bad demons and along the way gets trained by masters to develop his aura and increase his power. He also gets to join a team which develops into a very supportive camaraderie. The story gets into an interesting plot when a tournament having a grand prize of granting a wish, was held. In that tournament, he's about to get into one of the most famous and toughest matches yet.
Bubu Chacha
Bubu Chacha is the cutest yet one of the saddest anime that I have ever watched. It centers around a baby boy named Bubu and his live toy car named Chacha. What makes this sad is its back story behind the fun and adventures that are usually being depicted in its episodes. Their more intimate friendship originates from the death of a dog in an attempt to save Bubu from a car accident. During the night after the accident, the dog's spirit miraculously moved into Bubu's favorite toy car so that the dog would always be by his side. And from there, happiness was seen in Bubu again and they never separated each other. Everyday, they get into great adventures in which they learn values. Damn, reminiscing this anime makes me miss my childhood days.
