To Plan or To Prepare
Fly by the seat of your pants or develop an intricate plan to take into action.
Some people can easily identify with preferring one over the other, but I honestly identify with both equally, I enjoy an overly thought out plan as much as just showing up and doing it. The question is do I need to pick a side or can I find a balance a blend of the two. I believe so
Instead of planning, I will prepare. I will research, understand what I am going into. I will not make a plan on how I will take action however.
Instead I will go in prepared but ready to adapt to the situation.
Instead of going in blind and seeing what happens, I will go in eyes wide open ready to make the most of the moment.
Instead of locking in a plan that dictates my every move, and removes the joy that is spontaneity, I will go in with understanding, with a mindset to face any situation in the moment.
In the prepare and set goals, then find the most interesting and joyful ways to achieve them. There is no challenge effecting a good plan only action, I believe only in challenge do you grow
For me I think preparation is key, like a form of educated ingenuity, McGyer was the king of ingenuity, but you best believe he prepared, he studied, he practiced, then instead of planning in advance he used his preparation and mindset to take home to success.
I do not want to become a masterful planner, nor one that goes in blind and figured it out. I want to prepare for any situation and master any obstacle in front of me based on my preparation, my mind, my heart and my faith
A world addicted to planning
The world we live in today loves off data, logic, projections and planning. Humans like to know exacts, like to know for sure but that is not life. Constantly people are working to track data, to standardize and simplify the human so they may prepare but why. Simplicity... at the surface maybe but if you have ever planned it is far from simple, Knowledge.. a good argument but it is madness to seek knowledge for the sake of knowledge. I believe it is control and then money.
The only reason I plan ahead on most things is for two reasons: to control the outcome or to save money,
To be honest if I didn’t have to worry about money, I would plan, I would prepare, I would learn about the possible outcomes of a situation but I would not plan. I would not put myself into a prison of logic and measured outcomes. I would be human, I would float between experiences connecting with people, giving freely and gaining wisdom through the many life lessons just living teaches
