Coffee "Gayo" worldwide
Gayo Coffee grown in tropical climates of Central Aceh - Bener Meriah is a plant that dominates Central Aceh district - Bener Meriah since last year. The majority Gayo people work as coffee farmers with coffee farietas consisting of Arabica Coffee and Robusta Coffee, but more dominated by Arabica coffee type about 90%. Gayo area which is located at an altitude of 1200 Mdpl makes the gayo area cooler than other areas in Aceh province, so the gayo area is often dubbed the cold city. The height supported by soil fertility in the gayo area makes the gayo coffee taste very different from the coffee plants in other regions in Indonesia.

The last few decades, the world knows the expensive and quality coffee from Indonesia, with the name Kopi Luwak. Now, Gayo Coffee has overtaken into the top ranks of coffee sought by connoisseurs around the world.
The governor of Aceh, Irwandi Yusuf, promotes Gayay coffee at Istanbul Coffee Festival (ICF) and Istanbul-Aceh Business Investment Forum in Istanbul, Turkey. This is done to develop the kind of arabica coffee grown in Central Aceh District and Bener Meriah.
