Job is a man like me and you!

But his life was lived as a great Biblical character, who God was highly proud of to the extent that He was boasting of him in the heavenly convention and presentation of the Sons of God. God was so pleased and regarded Job to the level that He bet with the devil on Job that he is an upright man that will never deny Him (Job 1:6-12). Reading through the book of Job, I was so happy that Job never let God down, he didn’t disappoint God. Job make God a winner in the contest between Him and the devil. Job stood still in trials, he didn’t deny God. He never open up his mouth to curse God despite the pressure from his wife, friends and family. Eve make Adam to fall, but in the case of Job he reproved his wife and never akin to her. In Job 2:9 the Bible says “Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die”. Hear the reply of Job “But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips” (Job 2:10).

Even when tragedy befalls Job, that I expected him to react to it by falsefully accusing God and blaspheme Him for allowing such a disastrous situation to fall on him. Rather Job responded to the incident in this manner; “Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped” (Job 1:20).

What a perfect example that was, a man that can still praise and worship God in such a heavy bad situation when he just loses his entire property and belongings, including all his children. Maybe you don’t understand the gravity of such incidents it’s like passing through hell, but in all this challenges Job still worship God. God met with the devil again in another heavenly convention and still boast of Job, for the second time the devil received license to further try Job saying “Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown. And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes. Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips” (Job 2:1-10). But glory be to God that Job never deny God in all this situation.

God is looking for just a man like Job in this our 21st century, who HE can vouch for. But it is a pity that many of us as disappointed God, we have failed Him just a little trial of faith as shifted us away. See what God testified about Job in Job 1:8 and 2:3 “And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” (Job 1:8). “And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause”(Job 1:8). God make emphasis on Job personality as underlined below in the two stated verses, God is still searching for that man that will be the Job of our time, a perfect and upright man who will be perfect in all things. If you study the book of Job very well from the beginning to the end, you will find out that many of today servants of God all over the world have not yet arrived at this point of Job’s standard. Am standing on the word of God that says “with God all things are possible” I declaring to you that God will make you and I a perfect and of a good report before Himself and the whole world in Jesus name, (Amen).
