Be original
You don't have to be something that you are not. Imitating takes you so far, knowing once self is of the most importance in life. Having role models to look up to it is supposed to be an accelerator towards discovering your self, all that to a point it is not deviating much out of your own self. You have to have high standards in life but you also need to balance that with your surrounding situation, adopt and overcome any hurdle. Living is about going forward no matter what but going forward you have to keep a focus, a goal if you wish.
Change the flow
Being cool is not a goal, is more of a mentality which you should leave behind it isn't either a virtue, spending to much time to be liked by your peers is time wasted non wisely.
Having goals will keep us on track and motivate to fight and win any tasks ahead. Appreciating the over-comers mentality you can accomplish a lot of things that may come your way, so try your best every time to achieve your goals. Take the shortest route towards them, it is ok. Dreams can't wait, can they?
Make your goals cool
We do not have to adopt other peoples dreams, lets say your parent dreams are as such, they're theirs. Build your own dreams and try to utilize them to provide you with some daily motivation. At this age and era where everything is opening up their is hope for everyone to dream and make a future he/she owns. Own your dreams and build your lives, it's never to late to live your dreams.
So get out there and achieve your daily goals, taking a step towards your dreams day in and day out. The ultimate fight in life to get there, wherever that is set by you. Completing a goal after another, finding your true self and place in life.
It takes a lifetime but being true is the easiest way to be you, isn't that cool?
If ever in doubt remember that you are cool because you are "you"...

Good morning, I agree with you and when we are born, we are "forced" by the family to follow in their footsteps, but over the years we need to develop our self-knowledge so that we can tread our way and fulfill our purpose in this world!
Besides that, i made a post about myself, introducing myself and explaining what I will write. I would appreciate if you could view this topic and give me a suggestion if you find it necessary.
