STAYING POWER
Always pursue your dreams no matter what. Sure enough there will be obstacles and setbacks along the way as you’re working towards your goals and dreams but don’t give up. always remember that a setback is a pull back to push you forward. It is in direct correlation in the way an arrow has to be pulled back in order to get a push forward.
See obstacles as stepping stones and pillars that you must climb to go forward.
Never settle for easy. Easy is for the mediocre. The average. It’s easy to see many of them around, poor and broke. In their quest to be comfortable they end up comfortably poor and miserable. The world belongs to the man or woman who decides his or her lot in life and goes for it. The go-getters.
When it’s hard they go hard. When its tough they’re tougher. They are result oriented, persistent and hard working. They know giving up is not an option. So they go all out, exhaust their resources, relentlessly pursue their goal and keep on searching till they find.
The problem with most people in our generation today is that they lack “staying power”. The dictionary defines Staying power is the ability to maintain an activity or commitment despite fatigue or difficulty; stamina. Staying power is commitment. Staying power is focus. Staying power is persistence. It’s common today to see people giving up on a goal or activity after a few unsuccessful attempts. It is appalling to see millennials give up on their dream to exclaim the words: it is too difficult, I’m only human. Winners don’t quit. They persevere, they’re patient, resilient, vision driven and most of all they possess “staying power”.
As winners we refuse to give up or give in. we move in our course of action until we fulfill our objective. Calvin Coolidge, the 30th president of the United States once said “Nothing in the world can take place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent”.
Always remember that sometimes it gets bad before good. That it might take a hundred NO’S to get a YES. That anything worthwhile takes time, determination and commitment. That winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win.
That life would always test us with challenges and obstacles along the way as a way to help us achieve our goal. That all things are working together for our good even when we can’t see it.
Stay positive, stay happy and make the world a better place.
