Why do we see green plants?

in #life7 years ago

  • Photosynthesis plants, which are the main food producers of this world, appear green green. The reason for this is quite simple. The plants do not absorb the green light rays at 550nm wavelength. The plant, which absorbs high amounts of red and blue wavelengths of light, reflects green wavelengths. Reflected parts of the white light are mainly cloudy compared to the absorbed parts of the white light.
We can prove this in the following way. When we expose a plant to only blue and red light, we can not see the plant green. Because this light is reflected by the plant in a very small amount of wavelengths. But since the green wavelength region in white light is reflected much more than all other wavelengths, the plant appears green.
