Equality between the two sexes.

100 years of women in the police force, a great milestone!

I heard today that it's the centenary of women in the police force here in Australia. I am not certain if it's across all States or in one particular State only however I think that's besides the point. It's a great milestone that women in the force now, and then, should be very proud of.

They didn't receive the same training as the men, nor were they permitted to wear uniforms back in the day, but they got paid the same as the men. Apparently to apply they had to be single and have a nursing background. I don't know why. Today I think the entrance requirements for women are more lenient than for men, which I don't agree with, but there's certainly a lot of women in our police force here.

This story about women in the police was run directly after a story on the ABC news about a woman whining that childcare should be tax deductible to mothers as the cost of childcare is forcing women out of the workforce and into being at home caring for their children. This maybe the case and I don't know what the answer is. Maybe don't have kids? Maybe kerb your spending on non-essential items so you can afford to have them in the first place? I don't know. Maybe women getting paid the same as men in the workplace would be the answer? I certainly think they should get paid the same for sure!

This made me think about equality in general and I became curious as to how it's actually panning out for women currently.

I hear a lot of talk about women being able to do what men can do so they should get paid the same. Sure, I agree. I actually think that SOME women are completely missing an excellent opportunity for true equality in this world though. I think there should be equality between the sexes (all two of them) with no restrictions at all. Let me give you an example...

Umm...Ok, here's one. Think of Wimbledon, the tennis. There shouldn't be men's and women's. They should just have tennis. That's it. If the women are good enough to compete then great, we'll see them in the finals and they'll get the same pay!

Want another one? Ok, here goes...MMA or UFC fighting. No more men's and women's I say. Let's just have MMA of UFC. The pay could be the same for both sexes (all two of them) and whomever is good enough to win is the winner, regardless of sex. How cool would that be? Total equality!

Here's another good example...Women's swimming and mens swimming. Let's do away with the division and embrace equality between the sexes (all two of them) and just have swimming! What an amazingly simple concept. I'm surprised no one else has thought of it.

You see, it actually works for absolutely anything on the earth. There doesn't need to be men's and women's at all. I'm actually sick of the lack of equality between the sexes (all two of them). Women should get paid the same as men and should be given the chance to do exactly what men can do. If there are requirements: Strength, mental capacity, fitness etc. then let whomever passes the testing phase be allowed to do the job.

I'd like to point out one last sport in which equality between the sexes (all two of them) would be great! It's a highly paid sport and one in which physical attributes are most critical. American Football. Now, I hear some of you say that women already play this sport, and you would be right. There is a lingerie league in various countries in which women "play" football. But is it really the same? Do these women truly have the EQUALITY and respect they are looking for and deserve? I'm not sure.

So let's do away with women's and men's American Football and just have the one league. Whomever is suitable to play will play, and get paid the big bucks. Let there be no disparity, no them and us. Let's fight for equality so we can see women in the front line fighting ISIS, or competing against Usain Bolt in the 100m sprint (not the MEN's sprint, but simply the 100m sprint). What a sight that would be. Equality at its finest!
