The unfolding story of how I became a professional artist (week 31)
Woohoo! I actually got myself out for some plein air painting this week! Sometimes I think I just go through phases where getting out to paint seems like a chore but every time I make myself go I have a great time. Above is a spot around Felton , CA with the historic 80 foot long covered bridge built in 1892. Below are a couple of paintings from photo reference, one of the grand canyon and another of a large mountain in winter.
I went out again for the next couple of paintings, the first of which is a really sweet overlook along the hwy 9. The next shot is a spot I pass by every morning while I walk my dog and I really wanted to capture the sunbeams shooting through the trees in the morning.
These next three are from my weekly figure drawing group, I especially like the looseness of the last two.
This last image was a shot out at the cliff side next to the ocean in Santa Cruz, CA. I really enjoy sharing these images with everyone out there. Thanks for checking out my artwork, have a great week!
