Visiting a New York Cemetary?..........Always Carry a Gun

It is interesting to see some of the localized abhorrent behavior of a particular environment in relation to our desensitized urban collective existence. While visiting a local cemetery within the New York city area, I used the restroom within the cemetery grounds and noticed this innocuous sign which was attached to the door. The official content which was not alarming but rather the response which was scribbled upon the note, acting as a brutal reminder that even the false sense of serenity and peace one can experience in a place of final rest, can be shattered by the very real threat of the criminal living. As someone who has lived in Texas as well as Florida where concealed carry and Stand Your Ground laws are in effect, one can often wonder how useful the final advice would be in a city which criminalize any modicum of self defense. You live in the proverbial city that never sleeps long enough, and nothing will eventually surprise you.

Thats funny. A rest place that is meant to be quiet can be violent. What a paradox
