Patience (An admission of good things to come)steemCreated with Sketch.

PATIENCE

Not standing up when you're three stops away
Sparing your finger nails as you wait for the bad news
Hanging in there as you pull in to the office for another day

Things are never always as they seem
Sometimes all that's required is a little patience
On the road to happiness

It's knowing that there's a light at the end of every dark tunnel
Or biting your lip when someone's tugging at your nerves
Patience is hugging your child when they've wrecked the car a second time

It can be a great many things but one thing is for certain
Patience is never about giving up
It is the opposite in fact

An admission that there is something more
Worth waiting for
So buckle up and relax

Good day @freeinthought. Love your poem as usual but I must say Patience is not one of my better traits. It's not my fault it is my Irish blood.

Ha! If you've been a mother I'm sure you're patience is pretty darn good. Thanks for the comment it put a smile on my face. :)

I think as a Mama I was pretty patient. But I live in Markham and it is the City of the worst drivers in the Universe. If you heard my potty mouth when I am getting cut off for the umpteenth time you would agree I have no patience. Have a great day and enjoy this beautiful day @freeinthought

I want to know more about the kid that wrecked the car a second time. How did they finally tell you? What were their eyes doing when you yelled or were mad?

I like this poem; there are a few line's if you edit I'd suggest you cut. Mainly remove clichés. Say it differently. Like light at the end of a tunnel. Refer to it without saying it maybe?

Keep it going!

Indeed. I still struggle with the cliches. I like your comment about digging deeper beyond just scratching the surface (darn cliche again!). I really appreciate the feedback... :)

You're welcome! Recognition is the first step. I've worked out a few things by noticing them too. It is a constant process of improvement.

Do you know why mediation is so effective? It isn't about breathing, or centering yourself. That is just, ancillary benefits.

Meditation is practicing making your mind thing about what you want it to. Focusing on breath is an exercise like running laps.

See, you think about your breath. It is boring. You're going to fail at it. the exercise is to force your brain to stay focused on your breath for longer and longer periods. This lets you get better at focusing on what you want to focus on in the rest of your day.

Sorry, total tangent, but your comment and talk of cliche's reminded me of this. I hope it helps in some small way.
