Sleep 2 hours a day for a health life : Polyphaisc Sleep Cycle

Most of the people sleep in Monophasic sleep cycles which involves taking a large nap of about 6-8 hours at night.
It's the way we are taught by our parents and this is how society works.
Some people also follow a biphasic sleep cycle which involves sleeping for about 5-6 hours at night followed by a smaller nap during the day.
Usually we sleep at night and work during the day.
But if we didn't had society and job to influence us, would we still sleep that way.
There are other alternative Polyphasic sleep cycles which involves taking multiple smaller naps unlike biphasic sleep cycle which involves taking a big nap at night.
If you think these methods are not healthy and will lower your productivity, let me tell you that Leonardo Da Vinci, Thomas Edison and Nicola Tesla were also Polyphasic Sleepers and it was their extra time awake, which led them to become one of the most creative and intelligent minds ever born on Earth.

The 3 basic types of Polyphasic sleep cycles are as follows:


1. Everyman Sleep Cycle 

It is the easiest Polyphasic Sleep Cycle to adjust to and it involves a larger sleep portion and three periods of smaller naps. The larger sleep portion is of about 3.6 hour and the naps are of about 20 minutes.
A common schedule of this sleep is one large portion of sleep between 9 pm – 12:30 am, with three small naps at 4:10 am, 8:10 am and 2:40 pm.


2. Dymaxion Sleep Cycle

It is suitable for only those who can survive on short amount of sleep in a day.
I won't recommend this to you if you are new to Polyphasic sleep cycles.
This cycles consists of 4 naps of 30 minutes each spaced equally throughout the day. While 2hrs sleep a day may sound very less to you, but it works great. I also have been following Dymaxion Sleep Cycle for an year now without any change on me.
Only change is that my productivity has increased.


3. Uberman Sleep Cycle

It is similar to Dymaxion sleep cycle and involves 2 hours of sleep per 24 hours.
The only difference is that naps are shorter (20 minutes) and more frequent. Some people even add 2 more naps to their day which gives them a total sleep of 2hours 40minutes per day.


Why Should You Become a Polyphasic Sleeper?

Well since that you are on steemit, i assume that you are associated with Home Based Earning thus you are free with your time, you don't have to go to a job, that's why we can manage time to take a nap every 4 hrs, and researches have shown that Polyphasic sleep cycles increases productivity, thus increasing yours.
