Who, What, When, Where?

in #life5 years ago

Ooooh, been a while!
Actually exactly -

  • 38,793,600 seconds
  • 646,560 minutes
  • 10,776 hours
  • 449 days
  • 64 weeks and 1 day
  • 123.01% of a common year (365 days)

was since the last post I actually created.

So what has happened within those 449 days?

Steem Wise

Well to start off, I have slowly gained from 581SP up to 2606SP which I think is pretty great, a lot of curation has flown in. I cannot give you an exact amount, but right now the previous week has gained me a total of 5.053 Steem Power

I think the growth has been real nice and if we think of the price, which at the moment of writing this article is €0.250056 per steem, so that would value up for €1.25 peer week for pretty much doing nothing and growing my account even more.

Work Wise

Within the last 10776 hours I have changed my career position from Technical Designer into a Junior Developer, this was a rather long procedure, but with enough will I got it pushed through and joined a new team as a Junior Game Developer.

I cannot express how happy I was when the decision was made and I was chosen, but I can say it was life changing for sure. Before I came to work, because I needed to make the money, now I come to work with a smile on my face, ready to rock new challenges and to learn new things. I'm pretty sure if there's some software/game developers reading this right now their thinking like - haha, just wait a few years.

But no, I feel like I'm not doing this as a job, but rather than a hobby, I love the work I do, I love the feedback that I get and I love the fact that I actually get paid for this.

Actual representation of how I look lol

Also as seen on the lower picture, there's a really slim line on actually ruining the hobby for yourself, really easy example is e-Sports. People love to play computer games, people love to compete with each other, but as soon as you have to do it professionally 8-10 hours per day, to get better and have a slight advantage over others, it could get really annoying really quickly.

Gradually polishing every aspect over and over and over again for months or even years to be one of the best may be good, but can turn rather annoying in an instance.

Luckily work-wise there's possibilities to grow/evolve to higher levels or positions and that's what is actually happening right now!

Starting from 1st of March I got a promotion to be a LVL 1 Game Developer instead of Junior!

No way to actually impress again the excitement ahead of me, I love my current team, I love the work I do and I cannot wait for the future in here. I thought about listing some basic skills I've learned over the year of being a Junior developer, but I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in it at all.

If there actually is anyone interested, leave some comments and I could easily write a new post to show some code snippets/samples of changing in skills and list some of the most interesting things I've learnt so far and MAYBE even give out some pointers :P

Personal Life

Not much has actually happened in my personal life during these 64 weeks and 1 days.
I've gained a lot of weight because I've been too lazy to actually do some sports and because of beer haha. BUT, January was a trial month for me, and starting from February I made myself a promise to at least try -

  • Eating every morning(since I'm not actually used to eating at all on the mornings)
  • Doing workouts 3-4x a week - I joined a local gym now, so this combined with proper eating should do some changes in my physical look hopefully within a few months.
  • Something new every week/month - would that be some new food/some new activity or whatever I haven't tried before.

When it comes to accommodation wise, I still live far away from the capital and I've been really-REALLY saving up for my own apartment now. The reason why I want to buy something is pretty simple, the average rent in the capital for a 2 room apartment is around ~€400-500 and this is nothing special, while the monthly payment for like a home debt for a 3 room apartment would be around €450-550 depending on the apartment of course.

So in my head I don't see the point of paying for air if there's a possibility to save up and actually own something, maybe by the end of the year.

Happy to express and to actually write

Since it's been over 38,793,600 seconds from my last post I do feel like I've missed writing/updating and actually expressing myself on the social media. I feel like I'm glad I got into Steem a couple of years ago, because I've built good relationships with some of the people, I got to know a lot of new people and we still communicate with the Estonian Steem people on our discord almost daily, we help each other out, we discuss crypto news and all other living matters.

I'm really thankful for everyone and for this platform.
Thanks a ton for reading and lets hope it doesn't take another 646,560 minutes for the next one!

Hell yeah, make a post or two about coding! Great to hear about you changing positions and getting a promotion!

And the saving up for a place of your own thing is definitely smart!
Would be great if I'd be able to do it but unfortunately I have the capital city rent to pay for :D (and no, I can't just move out of town, that'd mean I have to change my kid's kindergarten and the place must have a solid train connection with Tallinn, etc etc).

We seem to be going through some slow lifestyle changes though, and hopefully I'm getting a job soon, so saving up might finally start succeeding soon.

Brick by brick. Good job!

Thanks a lot @Kristves for these kind words, I'll try to make some posts about coding soon-soon.

And also man, the capital city rent is crazy, plus of course the kindergarten part is really hard as well, because most of them are over populated or have a lot of people in line for a spot.

I hope you rock the position and can start saving up for future as well.
Future is bright for all of us!

Wilcommen back, musjöö Frankk!

Good to be back Sir Furious! <3

Oh yeah, I'd also love to hear about the coding stuff! I've been doing some coding on my own recently by taking stuff from the IT-module at school and would love to see how you've progressed!

Welcome back! :)

Be sure to check in in a few days, I have some clever ideas already and nice! Really good that you have some interest in the topic and keep on pushing and learning new things!
