My new life - from Melbourne to Rome (IT)
So I haven't opened this blog in forever and life has changed a bit since then...
I am originally from Rome but I have lived in Australia for 8 years and quickly realised that I am no longer Italian nor Australian. I'm in cultural limbo!
When I moved to Australia was basically by chance, I was not meant to stay at all. I went for a 3 week holiday that turned into a marriage and a dual citizenship, to then returning back to my hometown.
I actually returned for family reasons in April 2018 and started noticing all the things that just felt natural when I left and that I actually never questioned before. In fact while I was in Melbourne I felt very different and didn't think I fit in most of the time because I am very upfront and direct person, which is a big NO NO down under.
Sure there are exception but maybe the accent or maybe the choice of words I was quite often misunderstood.
Anyway, I am currently not employed so I thought I would take this chance to write a little here and comment on the aspect of my new rediscovered Italian life through the eyes of a semi-Australian young woman.
With this intro I want to share today's sunset so that there is a little more beauty to be observed.
