Making A Garden Soup
When I cook, I cook all day. Today the dog is quite nervous, as storm has hit. This is a different kind of Thunder, and Tornado warnings have been given. My best friend will hardly let me move as I try to make the soup.
So far I added grape leaves, 2 fig leaves, pepper leaves, green sweet pepper and 6 jalapeños, celery leaves, parsley, sage, lots of spinach, asparagus, onion, lots of garlic, pink salt, black pepper, and tomato sauce. Waiting to add beans, and plantain till this cooks down just a bit.
This is a big soup for one person, so i will divide it into smaller containers and have enough for the week at hand, and some extra for the freezer. Soup from the garden always tastes so good and when you grow it, you know what is in it for sure.
I usually eat it with a big salad made up of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, garlic, and avocado. I toss it with lemon juice, pink salt, black pepper, and Olive Oil. I then add Arugula from the salad greens garden. There you have it. Soup and Salad for dinner.
