Drying Strawberries And Grinding Into Powder
First Batch Of Powdered Strawberries
Why would you want to make nice fresh berries powdered is a question I get a lot. It is simple, you can keep your berries for months. Some of the many favorite uses are sprinkling 1/2 tsp on top of yogurt, making strawberry honey, adding to smoothies, and adding to recipes in general.
Often when shopping you will see a big sale of berries, but you hesitate to buy very many, as they will go bad fast. This ends that discussion. I try to buy all organic fruit on sale and then I keep a few out for fresh eating, maybe make syrups or jams, maybe make chips out of some, and then dry the rest. The powder can also be added to water for flavored water or juice. What you will do with your powered fruit in general, will even surprise you.
So why not take a chance with your fruit in season, and make it last all year.?
