Graves of malikussaleh

Out of curiosity with Aceh sculpture, I went to Kampung Pande, a village on the outskirts of Banda Aceh. To get there I passed the village of Peulanggahan which is not too far from downtown. Kampung Pande is also known as the zero point of the city of Banda Aceh, because it once stood the Kingdom of Aceh Darussalam embryo of the birth of Kutaradja (Banda Aceh now). Because it has a long history, in this village many scattered ancient tombs with neat and complicated tombstones.

Formerly during the time of the Kingdom of Aceh, tombstones in Kampung Pande was imported directly from the island of Batee and South India. It is said that these two areas have high quality stone.
