New science emerges and converges in reality, allowing parents to select the genetic sequence of their future children in advance. Parents have become gods, and scientists of the servants of these parent-gods
The new generation of gene sequencing, along with in vitro , will enable parents to choose the genetic nature of their child. The new controversial process, called mitochondrial transfer, will allow parents to create genetically superior embryos by buying DNA from "superior" mothers and then transplant it to their chosen embryo. Playing God, parents can literally choose their designer babies, choose the top and acceptable genetic sequences, choose according to their personal desires.
The first genetically modified baby was born May 28, 2013.
Here's where the controversial part finally comes. The manipulated embryo, consisting of only a few cells, is officially conceived of human life. Each of these embryos has the potential for further development in babies. The only thing that keeps them from perfect implantation is the mother's uterus.
Essentially, humanity has learned how to freeze life in time and manipulate perfection.
Freezing life and choosing superior genetics is scientifically morbid and absurd. Transferring DNA to design a super baby is unethical.
Ew. That is awful. I knew genetics would start to adopt this BS and am still hoping it will be prevented for moral reasons.
