Muhammad Ali was a special phenomenon.
I didn’t know much about him until I started researching him for a charisma breakdown (coming soon!)
But he had this way of being loudly confident without coming across as arrogant….
Of being dominant without being domineering…
Of psychologically destroying his opponents while making them love him.
I’ll be releasing a video on it in a few days on the YouTube channel, but I just wanted to give you some of the key points:
* Only talk smack when you can back it up - Ali’s trash talk wasn’t obnoxious because he did what he said
* Perform your stories like you’re a paid actor - if you’ve seen a clip of Ali, you know how theatrical he was. That made him a spectacle and a pleasure to watch
* Know your values and stand up for them - this is what made Ali a legend. His stances on Vietnam, race, religion…the guy had principles and stood by them even when they weren’t popular. Even if you disagreed with him, you had to respect him for staying true to himself in the face of extreme pressure to conform.
Noodle on those, particularly that last one. It’s the easiest one to ignore, and it will probably have the biggest impact on your personal confidence and charisma.
