Sometimes An Evening Well Spent Doesn't Always Require Electricity
Had an awesome time last night, hooking up with a friend that I haven't seen in a long time. With my wife being away, it's insane the amount of spare time you have on your hands! Now, this particular mate of mine used to be one of my long time "gaming partners". In my younger days, he was the revered source of many a video game and loads of memorable times. But we also had another, more simpler pastime. That of playing Top Trumps! A card game that is easy to learn but hard to put down! Check it out online if you haven't heard of it
Well, after dining out at a greasy yet tasty fast food joint and then back home chilling at mine, we soon realised switching on the old console, was a stretch too far. Neither one of us could get up once slouched comfortably into the sofa. A problem for a brief period of time, until we had an almost simultaneous brainwave. The draw next to me, containing three separate decks of this great card game. Well, what started out as a short distraction until one of digested enough food to move from the couch, turned into the rest of the night enjoying Top Trumps. No wires, no buttons, just pure old basic fun.
Hope my wife don't read this. She'll be running back home from her holidays, worried that without intervention, my neanderthalic regression might continue a step too far, lol!

Lately, I am feeling that technology and gadgets are draining my energy.
Do you ever feel the same?
I feel like going to mountains and leave my laptop and phone locked at some place.
Playing such games might also effect and help I believe. You gave me a good idea. I am now going to remember all the things I used to do and play when I didn't had these gadgets.
Thank god I have such wonderful past to remember, not like today's kids who wouldn't know that a time existed !!

Oh no! That's blockchain blackmail! Lol, I can imagine her reading it whilst shaking her head. But yes, I had forgotten those decks for a long while. It's crazy how our reliance on technology can cause the brain to dismiss these alternate, yet just as much fun, forms of older entertainment. :)

Well playing cards with friends is one of the best thing, we can consume time in a good manner, I have played it numerous times and the time was really well spent.
Yeah, I forget how much I enjoyed playing this game. Rolling back the years but having just as much fun doing so. :)

Lol! Being "stuck" in the sofa with a friend, due to over-eating, used to be a regular problem. Albeit, a quite welcome one, lol! Ah, the good old days. In fact, I already got a lot of stick for posting Linda up, but that's where I had to put my foot down. Thankfully I didn't give her the ultimatum of "It's Linda or me!" Not sure I'd be too pleased with the answer, lol... :)

Lol! That's is so true. It doesn't mean we don't love our other halves, but "some" time spent apart can do wonders. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, and our bellies grow bigger! :)
