Vlog #127: The amount of development on the Steem Blockchain since Steemfest 1 has been incredible. And it's only been a year.
It's the day before Steemfest 2.
I fly out tomorrow with Bianca and we will arrive in Lisbon around 18:00, just in time for the opening at 20:00.
At the first Steemfest (nov, 2016), the platform was so much smaller than it is today and only incorporated steemit.com with maybe a couple of thousand users.
I think busy.org was announced back then as the first new project build on top of the Steem Blockchain.
If I look at what's been developed on the Steem blockchain since then and how much more users there are it's nothing short of amazing.
And new projects keep being announced. Like project Utopian.io
I believe it's the first time the Steem blockchain has been taken out of a social media environment and is being used in a new way.
Rewarding people for contributing to open source projects.
How cool is that!

There is no doubt that Steemit is going places. People forget that Facebook took seven years for it to become profitable. I mean how many are n Facebook compared to Steemit? Steemit is only just beginning. People are only just beginning to understand the power os blockchain technology.
Of course one of the biggest worries people have (at least from my experience talking with friends who do not know of blockchain tech) is Government interfering and regulations. I can understand this with regards to Bitcoin as indeed it is threat to the fiat economy.
However, when you look at steem- an internal token to reward content . - then I think it must be somewhat difficult for governments to see such innovations as any kind of threat. The token is "used" for something specific and thus is no threat to authority. This could change in the future of course as crypto-currencies take more of a hold over the actual economy.
I joined in December of 2016 so it is coming up to a year for me soon and I agree it is remarkable just how far Steemit has evolved in such a short time. I year in the crypto space is 10 years in the real world lol

It's easy to lose patience while dealing with crypto but seeing a list with all the development so far gives me a lot of hope for the future of the steem blockchain. The only thing that bugs me is the fact that steem has an inflationary model and that is not that appealing at the moment.

I know but it doesn't stop at any point in the next 30 years :) I think this may partially explain why steem's price is relatively low. What I'm trying to say is the fact people currently like investing in coins with low max supply and that may put people off of steem
fantastic post my friend, i agree with your thoughts steemit no doubt grows tremendously and yes we not compare steemfest1 with steemfest2 because in that one year steemit got so much developments and all those strengthened the steem blockhain, well you also talk about busy in my opinion busy.org is a fantastic frontend builds on top of steemit blockchain and there website is super fast and great alternative if we found steemit.com down, now busy.org also announced busy.org bot, you can read the full announcemnt here and i also made a post on busy.org bot here, i think it is another good little benefit for using busy.org website, what is your opinion about this bot friend?. I think it's nice too see different methods being used to attract users to a website.

The amount of projects that are being carried out is incredible. The truth is that in my time in steemit I barely have time to immerse myself in all of them. I hope to catch up and take advantage of the potential they offer.
Do not forget to taste those typical dishes of Portugal and drink "Vinho verde" (white wine) in the Alto district of Lisbon.
