Noodles with chicken and a ton of vegetables in a soy sauce! From the wok. All freshly made and healthy!
For the second day in a row I was in charge of the food tonight.
Bianca worked the whole afternoon and had more work in the evening.
She asked me to make dinner.
I'm having a lot of fun cooking again lately.
By which I mean. Cutting all the ingredients myself (not from a bag) and taking my time preparing the meal.
It's sort of relaxing in a way.
I decided to make a meal in the wok with a load of vegetables and chicken with a soy sauce.
It's ready real fast but it's important to have everything prepared beforehand.
Let's cook.
Ingredients: Spring onions, Red Bell Pepper, Red onion, Mushrooms, Ginger, Garlic, Lemon, Sugar Snaps and Chicken.
I prepped everything before cooking. I cut all the vegetables, ground the ginger on a rasp and cut the chicken into cubes. It took me about 10 minutes to prep.
As a wok sauce I will use just soy. Bianca and I bought this one in the Asian Supermarket.
Get a pot of water on the stove to boil and also get a wok. Make the wok blazing hot before using.
Put oil in the wok. It will smoke a little and make sure it's hot! From now on it's fast work. I asked Bianca to help with some pictures. Start with the chicken! It will be done in no time. (2-3 minutes).
Add the red onion and then the bell pepper.
Add the ginger, the sugar snaps and then the mushrooms.
While everything is frying away in the wok put the noodles in the water. They only take 4 minutes.
Add soy sauce to the wok and a little bit of lemon juice. I just squeeze it by hand. Then let it all cook for 2 minutes.
It will look like this! It's all starting to come together.
Add the noodles to the wok. They will absorb some of the sauce. And fry everything for another minute or two.
End result! Very nice! Great flavours and the vegetables still had a nice crunch. I added the spring onions at the last moment. I do think that the meal could benefit from some extra 'heat', like a red pepper or some spicy paste. I need to remember that. When it comes to amount of vegetables in a meal this is pretty good!

This is happiness.

Enjoy your cooking, we appreciate it and she is proud of you as well.
Keep on cookin'
Ouch, you add the lemon juice, cook for another 2 minutes and then fry for another 2 minutes? Every star chef would hit you with the wooden spoon for that, because it discolors the dish and makes it bitter, you add the juice after removing it from the heat.
I never knew this! Wow, learn something new every day! Thank you so much for that tip.
Try it the next time with your dish, It will taste even better, in my opinion the flavor is like day and night. Im far away from a good cook, but those small tips really make a difference. Another tip I saw for lemons was rolling them before squeezing to get more juice, but this adds a slight bitterness too.
I never knew that either. I'll try to add lemon juice at the end of cooking from now when I use a recipe that calls for it. Great tip!
Even If it doesn’t, squeeze an extra lemon over your dish the next time, great chefs work with acidity :)
Looks really good. For the future a little bit of sesame oil would give this a ton of extra flavor. Crushed peanuts are also good for some texture, and yeah I think some chili's would go good, but then I'm a nut for spicy food (comes from living in Thailand for 6 years). Keep on that Steemfat train!
O yes! That's a great idea about the sesame oil!
Bam, good idea! That would definitely make this dish dance!
Beautiful food post, this is my kind of dish for sure.
Don't forget the idea of vlogging in the kitchen. You should give it a go while making a breakfast
Thank you! I'll think about the food vlogging (again). I do like it for grilling but I need natural light.
I agree with your pleasure @exyle
Yummy Yummy I want some now... shame I can not just research into my computer screen and take some lol , thanks for sahring.

Lots of Love this
Look so delicious isn't it?
@exyle Now that is one Great Looking Meal. You certainly have the PREP down when you said it took 10 minutes. If I was prepping this it would have taken me much longer. Everything in my opinion is much more healthy for you when you do this with the ingredients that you know......
A sharp knife and some basic knife skills that I taught myself (from youtube and cooking shows) helps me a ton.
You sould show us some cutting techniques in an upcoming DTube vlog:D
Wow!! @exyle sir, This is your another best quality. You can cook very well. All ingredients are so delicious and colorful to look at. My mouth is watering to see the yammy recipe. I will try it as like your cook. Thanks @exyle for sharing the cook and recipe.
Thank you!
