Almost all my friends are Steemians now. Talking all night about the Steem blockchain
Yesterday was @eqko's birthday.
He invited us to his house for some nice drinks and a barbeque.
(And before you ask) Yes, Project Steemfat is in full effect but not when there is a party. It just doesn't work.
Steem took up 95% of the conversation.
It's funny because about a year ago I could have mentioned STEEM on the same birthday and nobody would have batted an eye.
How things have changed.
The reason is pretty simple I guess. It has become way more clear what the Steem blockchain is and what can be done with it.
It's more than blogging. It's becoming a social economic platform.
@eqko, for instance, is a designer. He makes designs for other Steemians and they pay him in SBD or STEEM.
For him, this is a better way of earning crypto than with blogging. But he's earning crypto none the less!
This is one of his latest desgin, pretty awesome right.
But even if you think it's not, the monetization of the Steem blockchain is.
@eqko for offering his services is facilitating a use case for SBD.
You simply can't pay him with euros or US dollars on here. It has to be SBD.
And you can transfer this without giving up a whole bunch of personal information (like going through a bank). It's also fast. 3 seconds! And it's open, so everyone can see the transaction occurred.
More and more use cases for the SBD are being found and explored. It's a wonderful thing to see and for me, it's the driving force for the further success of the STEEM blockchain.
Talking all night about the Steem blockchain
Earning Steem through blogging is becoming harder and harder. This is not a bad thing, it basically means the Steem blockchain is becoming more and more successful.
But the monetization of the chain through business, services or development is where the next success will come from for the users that want to grab that opportunity.
Sitting together with the 4 of us we realized that we could actually make a good team.
We have a designer ( @eqko ), a programmer ( @bennierex ), the idea machine ( @s3rg3 ), and me (lol).
We have started to work on a little something.
Always exploring and always strive to be better.
I don't know if this will work or what will happen but if you don't try you will never know.

Unfortunately, as a person that came into the crypto-universe because of my fondness of stocks and things with real income, I totally agree with you notion that monetising on the network is a key. No doubt, blockchain technologies will revolutionise everything: To how we use our money, music, social media, media and how we construct the world we live in (no more ideologies perhaps?).
Happy Belated Birthday @eqko. It seems like you had a great birthday and maybe a definitely well-needed rest after designing the Steemporium and Steemstreams logo.
I think it is a good idea to postpone steemfat while you are at a friends house for their birthday. Better off to enjoy it and have a fun time rather than worry about what and how much you are eating.
It is amazing how can happen in such a short time. It is great that you were able to get many of the people around you on the steemit for them to experience blockchain and... the future.
Steemit was definitely a stepping stone into crypto. At one time I was going to invest money into Ethereum when it was $5 but I had no idea how I could attain the coin as I didn't know how to use exchanged and I suspended my efforts into buying the coin, which I, of course, regret but I'm happy that down the road I could find steemit.
It is great to see how there are many different ways to attain steem and steem dollar and as the platform grows and there is more confidence we are also getting many more services and uses for SBD. I can't wait to see what other things the future has in store. I think this really gives the platform more value compared to its competitors.
I guess sooner or later it is going to get harder and harder to accumulate steem especially with the numbers of users going up as well as the value of steem. I will hopefully use the time I have wisely so I can assert a good position for myself in the future by putting in loads of work now with my blogs and other things.
There is nothing better than having some burgers from a barbeque and they look absolutely delicious. I don't know what you can do with your group but the potential is there to create a great project @exyle! :)

The more groups we get on here collectively, the more the network effect plays out and people migrate from things like facebook, etc. to the platform.

It's great to know that Steem is now being used by all your friends. There are plenty of uses for the Steem blockchain in general. Besides for providing businesses and services, I also believe it can used as a cheaper form of a remittance service as it costs nothing to send Steem and it takes just 3 seconds for transaction to be completed.
Very true, It's more than blogging. It has already become social economic platform, as many of us now exploring opportunities to earn a living on Steem blockchain.....It builds very solid positive energy when we have friends who become Steemians, great achievement @exyle !
