Box of Mementos
I was "cleaning" today and organised some of the little bits and bobs I have gathering dust on my shelves. One of the things is this box full of random memories.
I'm the kind of person that saves place tickets, movie tickets, bus tickets, all kinds of tickets, polaroids (not the selfie kind) and the most random little bits from travels and events. Some of the things in here are funny, some heartwarming and some bittersweet, but I like to save it all.
Sadly nowadays a lot of tickets are in digital form, just like pictures, so I can't save them to my little box just like that. And I like material things, not just things in the cloud storage or in the back of my memory, I don't trust either of them.
I should definitely take more friendsies with my polaroid camera because it's so nice to have and share a real picture of a loved one, and put it to a safe place, or keep in your wallet. For me, everything is/was more real if there is physical proof of the event or person. A picture together, a ticket to a show, or a receipt from the restaurant we went to.
Do you keep mementos like these? If so, where are they hidden in your house?
I do have a box, sadly the contents I truly need and are remorable are not found in it, rather they were saved a pictures, pictures i cant find anymore.
I have books that defined certain periods in my life, a load of dusty ole garbage spread around my old house and a bunch of memories.
The things we desperately need to remember never fail to emerge whenever we need them.
I wonder if you could analyse the layers of dust to see what perios it’s from 🤔

The object ties your memories to the events. Some I want to keep to remember, and some I keep because it was special and I can't throw anything to do with it away even though keeping some of the silly things I do is sort of stupid. :O
This is so cool. Things like this brings old memories back. I do not think I have any hidden in my house and it would be nice to hear the story behind 😊
I do keep some things. the only real letter I ever got from a friend. Few seasonal tickets to basketball. a chessboard... I also like some stuff I found. weird tree lump. piece of wood with interesting ornaments. a stone.

Reminiscing about days of your youth again? Sure I am willing to listen. But anything you say can and will be used as a means of messing with you in the future.😉
