Life's Irony: Food blogger on a Diet
I felt that its too abrupt that I posted about my goals and my benchmarks on my goal without introducing myself enough. As you may have read on my previous article I am a type 2 obese male trying to change my life. That is only the tip of the ice berg and I want you to go deeper with me on my pursuit to be healthy
What I do?
I am a freelance writer. Specifically on the field of food. Part of the challenge is for me to resist the things that I love. I am a passionate food blogger writing things about how it taste, how it was presented and how is the over all experience. Here are some examples of my mouth watering escapade:
For the Appetizers
Chicken Karaage!
TexMex is Love
Yummy Paella Negra
Wow Desserts!
You know the great thing about what I do? I can eat all that is presented to me for FREE. Imagine my privilege! I am doing what I like and love while eating. Isn't that euphoric? At first I really feel the high and the fun of being able to put my money where my mouth is literally. Except that I do it almost without any cost. Would love to thank Zomato for giving me an opportunity to do what I love. I also maintain my own website foodguideph and other social media accounts that is all about food. I have been doing this for a while now and I really fell in love with the food blogging industry. It is all well right? Not exactly. I learned it the hard way that we will pay the piper the right price.
Enjoy does not mean splurge
I love what I do. Even until now I love writing about food. I like tasting different cuisines new to my palate. I would still love to enjoy this world full of flavors. The word here is enjoy. Enjoy does not mean splurge. Tasting food is different to voraciously devouring a feast. I don't know the difference between the two before but now I am consciously monitoring it.
From Obese to a Beast
I would like to borrow Mark Munoz Blog's title from Obese to a Beast. It still inspires me how he did it before and came back to MMA in 5 months. Anyway, my goal is to do what I love and still be the best I can be. At first glance its like an irony for a food blogger / food reviewer to do a diet but its not. Writing and loving food does not mean torturing and shutting oneself to food. Its having the discipline to enjoy life without abusing the body given to you. I hope that you stay tune to my journey!
Up next will be my Week 1 update. Ciao!
