Even In My Worst Times I Need To Remember How Fortunate I Am

in #life7 years ago

Hello my fellow Steemians. I have been on here now for about 2 months, and I have done very little so far. I like to spend a lot of time analyzing and observing. I think this would be good for more people on here, instead of putting up content for the sake of putting it up. I feel that if you want to get paid for writing, you are a professional. So it is best to take your time, and make sure things are clear, and well thought out.
I have been having a couple of bad months financially, which is common this time of year for my career. But it is always good to keep things in perspective. I am very fortunate to have a career that I have done since I was 18. I am now 40. So I have been able to work for myself, and from home, my entire life. Very few people get to do that. Even less get to do something that they truly love. I am a commercial fitness consultant, so I design fitness centers for commercial buildings (Hotels, apartments, etc). Although I have found I am not as driven as I was when I was in my 20's. Maybe I am just getting old :) Here is one of my lastest projects.

Just like everyone out there, when we have financial troubles, every other stress and worry comes out. I also have to put into perspective that I have first world problems. I have a beautiful place to live in Puerto Penasco Mexico. It is known as Arizona's beach. It isn't anything special, but it is more than I need. It is also like a resort, and very beautiful. So I really don't have anything to complain about.

This is the view out my back balcony. The weather is pretty perfect here. It gets a little hot in the Summer, but that isn't too bad. I went for a run on the beach and was thinking of this. I live in a beautiful area, and have everything I could need. But sometimes we get wrapped up in the doom and gloom, and do not focus on what is good in our lives. This is from the beach by my house. It isn't the best beach here, but it is very close to my house. Most of the beaches here are beautiful white sand beaches.

Being from the United States, you can live a pretty sheltered life. I grew up in a suburb of Salt Lake City. My family isn't rich, but we always had everything we needed. Plus Utah is about as peaceful a place as you can imagine. So when you come to Mexico, it is very different. It helps to put things in perspective, and humble you. I have had some bad times in my life when I was homeless, and only had some clothes and a suitcase, and that was it. But I was still never in a situation that some other people live in. I always had a friend or family member that let me stay with them.

I have decided that I am going to start putting content on here. I want to do things that are well thought out, and concise. I see a lot of people that put a lot of words, put repeat the same things over and over, as if it is better just to have more words. I think most people in the modern world do not have the time, nor the attention span to read something that drags on. So to that point, I appreciate anyone that reads this, and relates to what I say. I hope that everyone has a wonderful day or evening!IMG_9747.JPG
