The Tyranny of Perfection

in #life6 years ago

88% of things we wish to do are normally pushed aside because we don't feel ready yet. We wait till our music are without flaws and our canvas without mistakes before we let the world see our genius. But,often times, this leads to not doing it at all and procasting to a day that will never come. workers-408998_1920.jpg
While aiming at perfection is a wonderful and noble act. Being paralyzed by it is a problem in itself.
So many beautiful voices wallow in the bathroom, because the artist is too scared of what the world will say. Too many beautiful paintings are hidden from the world, because the painter felt it's not perfect yet. board-786119_1920.jpg
Here are some useful Titbits in overcoming the tyranny of perfection.

1.Let the World see Your shitty Draft.

As humans, we are really concerned about people thoughts and feelings towards our work. We genuinely seek applause , that this often leads to hiding our creative work till we feel like the world will be lenient on us in their judgement . This often times never happens. So my dear friend, show it to the world, use criticism to improve on your art and most importantly never let your talent die in a cubicle. target-1955257_1920.jpg

  1. All Great Work wasn't Perfect at First.

From Google to Facebook, none of them first version was perfect. They all kept on learning from the insight of customers and progress as they move along. First version of amazon was totally scrappy, but it hits the core of what Jeff Bezos wanted to accomplish on the web. Hey imagine they had waited til it was perfect ,we might never had the incredible opportunity to order a book from amazon or some other company might have beaten them in the game. mistakes-2460733_1920.jpg

Conclusion:
Life is a journey, likewise it's perfection, we might not attain it, but we will definitely get better as we improve in ourselves, learning to accept the fact that the world might not like it. And taking courage knowing that Edison first bulb didn't work neither the wright brothers first plane leave the ground. They all just kept iterating and building on the knowledge they gain from each Successive step.

Let your genie out, he desperately wants to meet new friends in the word.

Thanks guys!

Too true! Although, remember, Van Gogh wasn't famous until after his death and allegedly only sold one painting while alive, so sometimes its more about the dare-to-do opposed to the worlds response.
