Why you should not rely on productivity techniques

We expect that one correct technique, book or appendix will make us more productive. But these are just tools, and success is very individual.

The brain does not work linearly
At the heart of every method of productivity lies the erroneous belief that the brain works linearly. It seems to us that 12 hours of work is twice as productive as 6 hours.

Focus on the pleasure of the process, not on the outcome
The results in themselves mean little. If you are urging yourself to be busy all the time, it's worthless. You just waste your time and energy.

Evaluate projects in terms of what you feel about their completion. Those that cause you positive emotions, consider priority. Doing them, you do not have to force yourself: the process will bring you pleasure.

Identify one main goal
Find a goal that at the same time frightens you and causes a desire to immediately get down to business. Then, in accordance with it, determine the goals for the month, week and day. Smaller goals should flow out of the larger and match with each other.

How will this help?

During the day you are focused on one main task. Until you have fulfilled it, you are not distracted by anything else.
You no longer need to cross out the list items to feel busy.
When you have completed the main task, the rest can be distributed at your discretion.
As a result, you experience less stress and enjoy other activities and responsibilities.
With this approach, life becomes more organized. You control it yourself.
