Humility before Exaltation!

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Many people have the wrong impression that powerful and influential people must be arrogant and unapproachable. They feel getting power and influence means, they are beyond and above others and they push themselves to lengths of inhumanity.

Power and influence can be misleading and when you are unable to manage the wave it rides on, it tends to lead to destruction and a very painful end.
The influences and power a man should have should be those of community towards others; putting self down for others to rise.
The bible says, the humble are most often exalted while the proud are resisted.

Humility comes before exaltation and that is one reason why in every great man or woman, you will not fail to find humility in them.
To be great in life, you must cultivate the attitude of humility and gratitude. These are the two keys to greatness in life and anyone who wields them will go places unimaginable and unattainable for the regular folks.

Humility.

This simply means the quality of having a modest or low view of one's importance."** This is a very hard thing for many to do because they just must be heard and seen. If the discuss is not about them, they are not yet living.

A prideful man needs the humility to accept that his acts may lead him to destruction.
World over, the men and women who have live a humility personified life have been able to make the best of their time giving back to the world especially when they seen as failures.
Individuals like the Dalai lama, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa etc have been known to blaze the trail in terms of humility and their stories helps so many to do more and live more for others first before themselves.

James 4:6.- Be humble and do well to let your life impact your world whether you are there or not. God resists the proud and then goes on to give grace to the humble.
The men who are truly great are humble and grateful for everything they have and are.
You cannot succeed in life by making yourself great by your strength or ability, you need the people around you to bring to bear the true greatness that truly is in you.

Gratitude.

Gratitude is important in life. You must first learn to say thank you every time and anytime.

As a little boy, my parents taught me to not take stuffs from strangers, so with all the beautiful gifts that we were gifted with from friends and family members, we mostly had to say "No, thank you" and when we are forced to accept the gifts, we still have to say "thank you."

Gratitude is the quality of being thankful and the readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
You must be thankful for the live you have and how well you have been able to go through life despite the various hazards that lurks in the shadows.

I Feel Blessed!

Powerful and influential people should never be arrogant or unapproachable, they should be humble and approachable. A man's greatness can only be perpetuated through learning to appreciate others and then lead a humble lifestyle.

Great men know how to say "Thank you" for everything you do for them no matter how trivial it may seem.
On the other hand, small men are brash and ungrateful; they find it difficult to be thankful for anything, small or great.

Go through life appreciating the people, the moments and the scenes that adds to make you truly great. The wins of life are mostly not for those who struggle hard to maintain to make themselves great, powerful and feared, it is for those who are humble and grateful for the life and everything else they have.

Make the world a better place for someone today!

This made it for me...shikinah!

Thanks for this piece @ejemai. Pride and assured destruction are sides of the same country, the wise avoid them.

The Dalai Lama, who is in the second picture you used, is an epitome of humility. He oozes such wisdom, even his tweets are excellent tips on humanitarism.

Thanks for this @ejemai but to me realistic, humility is something that had quickly become a scarce commodity especially with the affluent ones....

Theres just this kind of pride that comes with being affluent and you just fine it hard to mix up with the people who aren't.... I mean is so so so rare. Except maybe people who are making a conscious effort to remain lowly at heart...

But in all, i believe its God who can give us strength to remain humble both in words and actions too....

Funny how most people don't really understand this humility concept.
"Great men know how to say "Thank you" for everything you do for them no matter how trivial it may seem." This line is so true. Atleast I can attest to this experientially.
Very awesome post and timely too 👌
