Scenery from Sandpoint, Idaho!
How's your week going? This week my wife @alovelymess and I are house sitting for some relatives that are 'out of town'. The area we are in is absolutely beautiful, and I love coming to this small town for that reason. We got here yesterday and it was pouring rain, but today the clouds broke up and we had a beautiful sunny day! We haven't explored this area much for some unknown reason, so today we took advantage and went out for a drive.
First we drove along the south side of Pend O Reille river, then found some dirt mountain roads that I'm certain I enjoyed more than @alovelymess.
After that we found a spot called Morton Slough Game Management Area which was pretty as well.
We were going to stop by Round Lake State Park, but there is a small fee you have to pay to enter and they don't except Steem, so we'll come back to that one. We did however drive over to Mirror Lake which wasn't far from Round Lake. it looked like a nice secluded camping area for the Summer.
Of course I had to stop for some shenanigan shots of the Jeep. Again, fairly sure I enjoyed that more, lol. Actually I need to find a vacuum leak it has. The air only blows out the defrost, plus the cruise control is no longer working. Oops...off topic. Go to Sandpoint!
I've been to each of these areas! That drive is especially lovely in October as the Larch trees are turning.
No way! Small world. Are you local?
Yes! Over by Priest River. 😁 fun to see other north Idahoans on here.
That's awesome! We just had a meetup a couple of months ago in CDA. Super cool!
I saw that the week I joined Steemit. I wish I would've know about it, and I would have joined you all. I'll be on the lookout for the next time!
Once I see this river, I remember about fishing ..hehe
Round lake is where we're gonna fish!
I need to get a sticker from the forest service some time soon.
All we caught in Round Lake last year we're a few teeny Bluegill. It may have had something to do with the time of day. It was afternoon and I heard the fishing is better in the morning.
We always use a simple bottom bouncing rig - just a splitshot sinker and a small hook with a worm on it. Try near the inlet/outlet (east or west sides) of the lake, that's where we'll typically catch our limit of rainbows. :)
I see you have found the secret fishing hole! :D
Woot! Can't wait!
The $10/year deal? Same here.
Beautiful Photography.
Thanks!
Wow, nice pics!
Definitivamente nuestro planeta tiene paisajes espectaculares gracias por mostrarnos un poquito sube mas contenido asi gracias @drobinson
In case you don't already know this: If you buy a state park sticker for your vehicle when you get your license plate tabs, its only $10 for the year. I live close to Farragut State Park, so I always know I'll get my money's worth!! Of course, that's only if you have Idaho plates, and I'm not sure exactly where you live in this general area.
Thank you for the reminder! We were asked if we wanted to purchase it last time, however it was about to be winter so we declined. I need to go by and grab one next time. We have been to the Bayview area over there, it is beautiful. We are in CDA. :)
Well then, you are fellow Idahoans! I know I met you at the last Steem Meet-up, but lost track of who lived where.
Yes! Pretty much all our clan lives in CDA. @lifes-a-donut and @hotrod are in Sandpoint.
