Go back there and explain your flag and I'll remove mine.
FYI removing your flag without an explanation won't cause me to remove mine and I'm not asking you to remove it so long as you feel it was justified under either abuse, copyright infringement of trolling. This isn't retaliatory, it's just because we don't flag here without stating a very good reason. Operating within the law and all that.
Commenting on your thread because this interests me. Why are you so concerned with everything going on in the USA? You're Canadian and Canada has some messed up stuff going on too.
There are some here who would be inclined to think you're a foreign agent trying to muckrack. Eitherway I fail to see why you have any interest in the lines you are perusing when your introduce yourself thread was so damned good. I liked the guy I saw in that and you just don't seem like the same person.
Frankly your piece on Arpaio was classic. I'm from phoenix, Sheriff Arpaio is mentally deranged. Pretty much anything he says as "fact" can be discounted and thrown out the window. He's been charged criminally with operating outside the law and impinging the rights of people including citizens. There hasn't been a more corrupt politician in office in the western USA in a generation. This is the same person who believes he can tell an illegal vs a citizen based on skin color and last name.
If you're interested in having this discussion I'll open it up over there, but I just wanted to say, you're spreading a thick layer of BS, either to get attention or because you genuinely believe it, are scared and don't have the tools to tear through lies you've been told.
I'm no fan of Obama, but this isn't the real issue with the guy either.
Fair enough, you're an expat. Didn't see you claimed dual citizenship. Just that you had left before Nixon was even president.
You're concerned with the country and you have a right to be. But even you have to admit it looks like muck racking. We've got issues, but the electoral college isn't one of them.
As you can see there have been a number of times that presidents have been elected by the electoral college, even though they lost the popular vote.
Now I'm not saying that this is the best system in the world but this is not really a conspiracy of liberals, since most of the presidents who have won the electoral college but lost the popular vote were GOP. Especially the last hundred years or so.
This is something that comes up every election. Several states have laws requiring electors to vote the popular vote. But more states allow them to "vote their conscience".
Trump likely will win the EC vote though because most people view him as the lesser of two evils. The time to stop trump would have been during the primaries. But the celeb culture we have cultivated means that the person who can be the most outrageous and entertaining is the one who will capture the popular imagination.
They have a similar problem in Mexico. The current president was a TV star who managed to win the election and the Peso has been on a nose dive every since.
The articles you're linking seem to be saying that an attempt to influence the EC is a bad thing. I read them, they seem more than a little biased.
People are scared and rightfully so. Trump is a loose cannon with his finger on the button that controls the world's largest supply of nuclear weapons.
I wouldn't want Hilary's finger on that button either. Not real comfortable with Obama having his finger there either.
Eitherway, you say you have zero tolerance for racism, but you're voicing support for a man who has been openly racist and demonstrated complete ignorance at turn after turn. My hope is cooler heads will prevail and that Trump can be taught to see past his prejudices, biases and fear.
Running articles and spreading rumors of "liberal media conspiracies", doesn't really help that.
It's not a conspiracy if a hundred hollywood movie stars get together and make a PSA asking the EC, to vote their conscience. It's not even a conspiracy if they ask them to vote Hilary instead. It's just people using their free speech rights to send the message they want to send.
Continuing here because we reached the comment depth limits.
The articles you're linking lately aren't lending support to your position.
They are claiming things like Obama's birth certificate was fake. That there is a liberal conspiracy to keep Trump out of office etc.
You're not presenting both sides of the story and because of this, people like myself are trying to figure out why you are saying one thing "I'm #nevertrump", but then linking to silly conspiracy claims about keeping Trump out of office.
As for me, not that it matters, but I'm convinced it's time for the USA to dissolve the union and let each state become it's own sovereign nation.
I'm former military with a family history of distinguished miiltary service that goes back to the French/Indian wars, and includes the revolutionary war and I still believe what I'm saying.
Our current system doesn't scale and it looks to me like it's beginning to fall apart.
I'm flagging you for abusive flagging.
Next time you flag someone, have the courtesy of explaining why.
You flagged https://steemit.com/racism/@ghostwriter/rudolph-the-red-nosed-reindeer-teaches-an-awful-message without leaving any comment.
Flagging is reserved for abuse, copyright infringement or trolling.
It's not your own personal "I disagree with you button".
Go back there and explain your flag and I'll remove mine.
